Manuscript volume containing drafts of poems included in William Morris's The Earthly Paradise, as well as several poems that were not included and had not been published in Morris's lifetime. This includes a first draft of his prologue to Earthly Paradise, estimated by collector and friend Charles Fairfax Murray as being written two years earlier than the prologue that was eventually published with the volume. The poems here were gathered from multiple manuscript booklets in Murray's possession and bound together. There are several prefatory comments by Murray about the poems.
